It is lucky to wear something new on Easter

It is lucky to wear something new on Easter Sunday and, in 1899, there was no shortage of businesses looking to have those purchases happen at their establishments.
Easter gloves (in black and every colour!), neckties, hats, jackets, capes and ... even hair! ... were available for sale around Charlottetown.

Gentlemen looking for the "nobbiest" hats and caps, would have to look no farther than RH Ramsay & Co.:

IT IS LUCKY to wear something new on Easter Sunday. It is just as well
to wear something that can be worn on some other Sunday. Just break it in as it were on Easter.
One thing that is more specially worn Easter is NECKWEAR.
Our Easter NECK TIES are not surpassed for style in any city in Canada.
Our Hats and Caps are pronounced by those who have examined them to be the nobbiest in
Charlottetown. Buy one for Easter.

But you can't go off to church in your nobbiest caps and finest French kids without attending to your hairdo, can you? Lucky for you, Charlottetown has its own tonsorial artist (who may or may not have practised his skill on horse manes and tails — or football players! — unless there's another meaning for Rough Rider?):

MR. EUGENE YOUNG, the Rough Rider
tonsorial artist, has completed a separate
ladies' and children's hair dressing room,
and is now prepared to do singeing,
shampooing and treating of the scalp. The
entrance to the ladies' room is from
Sydney street.  Give him a call and be
treated by the latest American systems.

No hair to be treated? No problem! In the middle of Sentner, McLeod & Co.'s Easter advertorial is a paragraph about their latest hair goods. They purportedly cannot be detected from real hair!

It's a long time since the Ladies of Charlottetown saw so pretty a range of Satins as that now shown by Sentner, McLeod & Co.
Another lot of Hair goods received to-day, cannot be detected from the real Hair.
How the snow has disappeared from our streets the past few days, it's not disappearing one bit faster than the pretty dress Goods at Sentner, McLeod & Co's.
Ladies when you want anything new, fashionable and pretty you're almost sure to get what you want at Sentner, McLeod & Co's
This is going to be a big Jacket season. Capes will also be worn but Jackets will hold supremacy.
An immense assortment of Sailor Hats to choose from at Charlottetown's greatest Millinery Store Sentner, McLeod & Co's.
75 Boxes of flowers expected in a few days at Sentner, McLeod & Co's.
Leave your order to-day for your "Easter Hat." If you want a stylish and becoming Hat, you'll get it at Sentner, McLeod & Co's.
We're not so sure we should cover up our tresses — done up by the Rough Rider or purchased from the hair goods department — with an Easter or sailor hat. But we are appreciative of the advice that the jacket will hold supremacy over capes this season!
Happy Easter!

Once again, we took these images from the painstakingly digitized newspapers posted by the good people at Islandnewspapers.ca. These ones come from April 1899.
